A search group experienced with investigations of several other high-profile missing persons cases has joined the search for a missing California family of four who have not been seen or heard from in nearly a month.
Texas Equusearch plans to send four members of its team to San Diego, Calif., tonight and comb the area where the McStay family was last seen Feb. 4.
Tim Miller, the founder and director of Equusearch, said detectives handling the case in California told the group they could use “as much help as they can get” in locating the missing family.
Miller said his crew will use drone airplanes that can spot footprints and clothing from above, as well as manpower to comb the nearly 40 miles of isolated roadway between the McStays’ home and the location where their car was found.
A San Diego Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman said the U.S. Border Patrol and Interpol, the International Criminal Police Organization, are aiding the investigation, which includes homicide detectives.
“We’ve been strategizing to figure out where they might be,” Brugos said. “We’re working with border control to find out whether there is any activity on their passports, and whether they had any connection to narcotics or gangs, but it doesn’t seem as though they do.

Please keep us up-dated.
I am praying for a safe return.
Watching family videos, and looking at the family pictures, who couldn’t fall in love with this family. Newly-wed parents with two absolutely adorable boys- and all just vanished ??? It doesnt sound like this family would take off with their kids to Mexico without telling anyone, and would someone actually try to kidnap a family of 4, 2 of which young children that can easily draw attention?, and no one see anything? – just doesn’t make any sense. So many questions that are unanswered. Our prayers are with Joey and all the friends and family members. We are eagerly waiting to hear more about this situation that will hopefully lead to the safe return of Joey, Summer, and their 2 beautiful little boys.
It has become so dangerous to travle in or around Mexico.
My first thought was this family has been kidnapped ….I think that happens in Mexico more then anyone wants to admit.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends….may they be found safe and brought home. Lord…please keep this family safe and wrap them in your loving embrace until they are back home with their family…where they belong.
My prayers are with this precious family!
It is not of their nature to literally drop everything and just take off to Mexico… we
all agree on that. So what happened? I truly believe in Psychics and feel if the family
were able to secure the help of a reputable one… it just might lead in the right direction.
Good luck to Tim Miller and his clan!
