Potential Sightings in Mexico

McStay Family website received a few emails with potential sightings today. Information was forwarded to the detectives for their review, though I was told the FBI will be briefed tomorrow.

Mike, if you go to Mexico take a couple people with you and be careful. Maybe an FBI agent could go with you?? I pray for their return and safety. Please keep me updated.

  4. Leslie

Have you considered hiring a private investigator to try to locate them in Mexico?

This case really baffle’s me. The authorities think it was the family walking into mexico on that tape, but it is too dark to tell. I am sure his brother and her sister and mother looked at that tape millions of times and can tell if its them. To disappear without a trace is one thing, but a whole family is another. I have watched the video clips and I am convinced there is foul play. If it was them walking into mexico, one thing, they do not look to be under any stress. So theres no force, 2) the car was parked blocks away, how about they were beating any kind of traffic when they got back. 3) eggs left of counter could have been easily forgotten. I have done that myself. 4) the dogs werent taken care of, well, if they were planning some small outting for a diner or anything that could be going on in that area that night, then there would be no need for anyone to care for the dogs. My conclusion, they went to mexico for a small outting, not a vacation or to run away from something, i feel as though they went on some small outting and met with foul play once they got there. Maybe i just watched too much police tv detective shows, but that is just my opinion.

I live 1 hour below the border in a american area, maybe if we had some flyers we could help get the info out, are they deeper down? Is the question? They are still so heavy on my heart and mind. Where are they how are they. God please help us find this family.

Michael, we are Fallbrook people and will be spending a month in Mexico, south of Puerto Vallarta. Is this near the area where there have been reported sightings? How about some flyers so that we can distribute them down in that area while we are there.

Mike, if there is anything I can do to help please, please. I currently live in San Diego. My heart goes out to you and your family. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

    Hi Mike
I hope you find your family real soon, I have prayed for them and am like everyone baffled. I did view the video of the family several times and it looks like your family to me, especially your sister-in-law and the boys. I don’t see them just up and leaving their dogs so it just doesn’t add up. Hopefully the answer will come soon. Maybe they intended to contact someone to take care of the dogs and for some reason were unable to do that

I would first like to say how heartbroken I am for your family as well as for Summers family. Please know that you are all in many, especially the boys. My stomach aches with the thought of any ill will toward them. I’ve read so many assumptions and Im amazed. For a family with no real financial issues, no criminal issues , etc to get up and walk away for even a short period of time is strange in itself. As a wife, mother, & friend, typically someone in your life even knows when your family is going out to dinner, someone usually knows your schedule. (mother, sister, girlfriend, coworker) Even if thats not the case, a close knit family doesnt disappear into thin air. We normal (so to speak) people don’t leave fridges full of food and our animals to starve. I truly believe there was someone in the home with your family or threating them to leave, reasons unknown obviously. They left their vehicle with no passport home for thier son. Who does that? What does “seem to be under no stress mean” as they head toward the border? If there was someone watching them, near them, or threating them from a distance, how would we know? I’m completely sure the first thing from the invasive person would be to say “Act normal”, right? I have 4 daughters and if they were threatened in anyway I would do what I was told with no looking back. I’m sure the FBI is very aware of the crazy things that the people in this world do and will continue to search adamantly for them. I will continue to lift them in prayer. I am so sorry that your family must deal with such an awful situation.

I have been watching this topic since day one and it saddens me. Being a Wife and Mother of two little girl’s it really hits home. I pray that they are all OK..maybe they did plan a trip and something went wrong..or perhaps they wanted to get lost for while. Anything BUT them coming to a tramatic end :( My prayers are with the entire family.

Seems odd that there’s no word since last Saturday, April 3rd, anywhere in the news. Any update about the alleged sightings?

  16. Lana

So now Joey McStay owns property in Mexico? Earlier stated that he would never go there and didn’t do business there.

    Sounds like a hoax.

[ Belize actually, but land only.. no structure on it. ]
[ Doubt the FBI, SD Sheriff and other agencies would get involved if your opinion was accurate. [ Mike ]

  17. Pepper

Is it a mistake the reporter made? About Joey owning property in Mexico?

[ I contacted Jamal Al-Sarraf and it is being corrected. I also went online and commented on it also. ]

Is Merida is in Belize? Otherwise this article is wrong and has turned the tide of opinion against this being a real story.

[ I contacted Jamal Al-Sarraf and it is being corrected. I also went online and commented on it also. ]

  19. Rachael

Why hasn’t the article been corrected, if Mike was quoted wrong? Come on Mike.

[ I contacted Jamal Al-Sarraf and it is being corrected. I also went online and commented on it also. ]

  20. Wanda

Mike, why haven’t you made sure the article’s been corrected, if your brother really does not own property in Mexico?

[ I contacted Jamal Al-Sarraf and it is being corrected. I also went online and commented on it also. ]

Just like I stated before. This is all an elaborate hoax the entire McScam family has brought up for their own way to better their lives through the weak resolve of mindless people.

The truth will come out, and just like the balloonboy nutcase, hopefully this entire family will get thrown behind bars for pulling a bernie on you all.

God, Ponzi schemes are so easy now. Enjoy that steak dinner and new mercedes these idiots paid for mike!

  22. Alicia

John, your words are cruel and cyncial. If you knew Mikey and his family, if you experienced this with them and saw their tears and knew their struggles, you could never be so heartless. I challenge you to find more honest or loving people anywhere on the planet. I can assure you that a new mercedes and steak dinners are the farthest thing from his mind! He is pouring all his efforts and resources into one thing: finding his family.

A family is missing, and their loved ones suffer daily in their absence. Please do not add to their suffering. They need our prayers and support, and if you cannot offer either, please show some respect and decency by remaining silent.

  23. Wilms

John Brooks is a dumb ass and needs to shut his mouth. Mikey has his own family to support and has been losing money , spending 2 months looking for his brother basically all by himself. That is why there is not as many updates as some would like and as much detail as some would like. This is very overwhelming for the Family.

  24. Michelle

I really encourage people to use this website for exchanging information and offering help and encouragement. Please find some other way to vent negativity. This isn’t the place.

  25. Lana

That bit of misinformation should make it very clear that there are a lot of folks, no matter how insignificant, but with keyboards, who are noticing the details of your story and giving lots of publicity to it, indirectly of course. Which I hope really helps you and yours. This is a frightening, sad, awful thing to happen to anyone, anywhere. Use your power to get the messages out accurately and for good purpose, Mr Mike. Stay Strong.

  26. Jen

Still keeping your family in my thoughts, and hoping for the very best.

  27. Kristal

So sorry, Mike, for the suffering your family is going through right now. I have been following this case since the beginning and am concerned that there haven’t been updates posted since April 1. This is the primary website people are coming to looking for information. Is there anything new to report? Even if there’s no news, perhaps just a short note from you–just so people know this is still an active missing persons case. I’m certainly hoping for the best and keeping your family in my thoughts.

I am the wife of a police officer and the daughter of one too, please take the money and hire a PI, law enforcement and the FBI today have their hands full of crazy people, everywhere is crazy, people have no jobs, no homes, no money,
it is the time of desperation for many.
A private detective can pick up clues that the locals and FBI might be missing, he devotes all his time to your case, yes they may be expensive but use the donations to find your family…..
My husband always says, 9 out of 10 times they know the abductor or the persons who commited the crime,
I would hope noone would be desperate enough to exploit children for their own selfish greed, I am sure this family is truly missing but the family needs to take the right steps to find them…accusations always surround doubt…….

    Hi Mike,
It’s been awhile since this site has been updated. Praying that Joey, Summer, and the kids are found safe soon!

  30. Shane Gentry Robb

    Hi Mikey,

It’s Shane your cousin. Living in Florida now. Just letting you know that as far as a SW Florida Wallmart, Joey and his family are featured on the the Missing Children’s display in the center of the board and enlarged. They are surrounded by hundreds of smaller pictures of other missing children. So at least that is positive. Our prayers are with you from the other side of the continent.

Hi Mikey, I applaud the way you care so deeply and I pray for a healthy resolution for you
    and your loved ones.

Im scared to imagine what couldve happened to them! especially since human trafficing seems popular these days. This whole ordeal sends chills down my spine. Whats even more frightening is the very same thing could happen to my family. This case reminds me of the o’hair case, and their house was left in the same creepy “frozen in time way”. I dont think they would be in that heavy traffic and attempt to cross the border just for dinner. My heart goes out to that family. I hope for the best, but this dont look good at all.
